Parallel scanning

To save you time, DaisyDisk can scan multiple disks and folders concurrently.

However, for rotational HDDs, multiple parallel scanning requests for the same disk would cause its mechanical head to make a lot more jumps, causing it to wear unnecessarily and slowing down the scanning.

DaisyDisk automatically detects the type of your disk, and for the mechanical HDDs, scanning requests are queued when necessary:

In the newer SSDs there are no mechanical parts, so parallel scanning is always allowed.
